The Divergent Series: Insurgent (IV)

Hello Initiates!

Today marks 0 day to Insurgent. It is already March 19 and my country has just released Insurgent in theatres. I will be watching Insurgent at 2pm (SGT) at my local theatre and I will also be doing an Insurgent movie review later tonight. If I am allowed to watch Insurgent in IMAX 3D in cinemas this coming weekend, I'll be getting 4 Insurgent IMAX Posters, courtesy of Shaw Theatres Singapore Private Limited. If I get 4 of them, I will probably be giving away 3 of them, while I keep one, on my Instagram account (@loyaldauntless). So stay tuned on @loyaldauntless during the weekend and I will try to get them for you guys!

Here is a picture of the poster being given away at Shaw Theatres Singapore:

Have a dauntless-filled day today, Initiates!

The Divergent Series: Insurgent (III)

Hello Initiates,

Today, marks the 24 hour countdown to The Divergent Series: Insurgent coming out in theatres on March 20 2015. Now, in my country, we are less than 7 hours to Insurgent! Insurgent has officially been confirmed to be 119 minutes (1 hour 59 minutes) and not 140+ minutes (2 hours 20+ minutes). A PG13 rating has also been given to Insurgent by MPAA, due to violence and brief profanities.

I am pretty annoyed with my local newspaper companies, which I am not going to name. The reviews for Insurgent was "suckish", they criticised Insurgent as a weak sequel, giving Insurgent a 2.5/5 average rating. They also criticised the director for casting such great actresses (Octavia Spencer, Naomi Watts & Kate Winslet) for such a bad sequel. I mean like Insurgent is bæ and how dare you criticise such a great sequel?! I have to say Insurgent is pretty "ON POINT", based on the bestselling novel with the same name. Insurgent (movie) has so much scenes from the trailer that are from the book and pansycakes have been criticising Insurgent as "NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOK". Well, that's the reason why the Divergent fandom calls you guys PANSYCAKES. Also, one of the reviews said that if you had not read the book or seen the first film, you would not even like the movie. To be honest, that is the worst thing I have ever heard about Insurgent! No one has ever said anything so bad to the film franchise before except you! It is time reviewers need to read the book before commenting anything about the film as you have no idea how much struggle it is to squeeze a 500+ page book into a merely 2 hours film! Of course parts of the book would be left out, such as the Peace Serum scene in Amity. 2 hours = 120 minutes. How much of a 500+ page book can you fit into a 120 minutes film? Common sense say about half/three-quarter. Hence, I do not agree with the reviews made by my local newspaper company about Insurgent.

The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part One's discussions has begun and one of the main thing that was brought up was the ending of Allegiant. Some initiates have stated that removing the sad ending would be better. However, other initiates have stated that removing that scene would change the storyline for Allegiant. What do you think about the discussion? I would definitely say that leaving the sad ending for Allegiant would be better.

Also, just to let you guys know that my Instagram account username has been changed from @insurgentlogy to @loyaldauntless. Please give that account a follow or maybe some likes? Thank you!!

The Divergent Series: Insurgent (II)

Hello Initiates!

OMG wow! Time really does fly. We are now officially #2DAYSTOINSURGENT!! I cannot accept the fact that it is so close but yet so far. However, I have heard from Instagram accounts that went for the NYC Insurgent World Premiere that they had a chance to view Insurgent for the very first time with the stars of Insurgent

Reviews says that Insurgent is "REMARKABLE", "ALL-STAR CAST", "VISUALLY STUNNING", "ACTION-PACKED", "BREATHTAKING ROMANCE", "THIS MOVIE HAS IT ALL" & "PACKED WITH ACTION, SUSPENSE & DAZZLING EFFECTS".

Well for me, I believe Insurgent will be better than Divergent in so many ways! From simulations to even romance! Unfortunately, the director of Insurgent has confirmed that Insurgent will be 119 minutes (1 hour 59 minutes) instead of the earlier confirmed 158 minutes (2 hours 38 minutes). However during the NYC Insurgent World Premiere, @trisfourdivergent on Instagram told me that Insurgent is 140+ minutes (2 hours 20+ minutes). Hence, the slight confusion of run-time for Insurgent has got the Divergent fandom really confused. But, when you watch Insurgent, you will know the timing of the film then!

Also, there are great news for the fandom! Last week, it was announced by the director of Insurgent, Robert Schwentke, that The Divergent Series: Allegiant Part One would start filming on May 18. Next, it has officially been confirmed that Allegiant would be getting a Collector's Edition on October 6! Lastly, it has also been officially confirmed that Allegiant will be split into 2 film, the preceder will air in 2016, while the latter in 2017. Perhaps, the ending would be changed, just like other book adaptations?

Here is author of The Divergent Series, Veronica Roth's review of Insurgent:
So!
A few weeks ago I flew out to Los Angeles, a mythical place where there are flowers…on trees…in February. (What is this sorcery?!) And while I was there, I experienced another strange yet wonderful phenomenon: I saw Insurgent.
Guys, Insurgent is great— and fun to watch. It is a tense, action-packed adventure of a movie. At certain points, my muscles were so clenched I felt like I had just done a series of push-ups. When I left, I immediately wanted to go back in and see it again. (I still do!)
I know that some of you are probably apprehensive because as the trailers have revealed, there are a few clear differences between the book and the movie. I shared that apprehension walking into the screening room, but I walked out of the movie relieved—and excited. Insurgent, the book, has a complicated plot—a lot of moving parts, a lot of ups and downs. That sort of thing can work in a book, but if it’s translated directly to the screen, it makes for a messy, confusing movie. The changes that were made streamline the story so it makes sense for this new format; in other words, they work.
And more importantly, the characters—especially Tris, whose difficult emotional journey is really the driving force of Insurgent—are definitely the ones I know and love. Watching it, I felt so lucky that we had such a strong cast, who brought so much to every moment, and a great director, who added so much richness to the world while still keeping it familiar.
I can’t wait for you guys to see it, too!
Just one more month!
Also, here is a post from Veronica Roth's Tumblr:

The "Divergent" author is set to write a new two-book series, HarperCollins Children's Books told The Associated Press on Monday. The books currently are untitled, with the first one expected in 2017 and the next in 2018.
Roth and her publisher offered few specifics, beyond saying the series is in "the vein of 'Star Wars'" and will tell of a boy's "unlikely alliance" with an enemy.
"Both desperate to escape their oppressive lives, they help each other attain what they most desire: for one, redemption, and the other, revenge," the publisher announced.
In a recent email to the AP, Roth wrote that "The idea started with a character. All the other elements — setting, world, even a substantial portion of the plot — came after." She added that while she had a "pretty detailed" outline for the new series, she was still in the early stages of writing.
"That's why I'm being so vague," she explained.
"Divergent," a Dystopian trilogy Roth completed in 2013, has sold more than 30 million copies and along with Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games" and John Green's books helped perpetuate the strong growth of young adult novels. The first "Divergent" movie, starring Shailene Woodley as teen heroine Tris Prior, came out a year ago and quickly earned more than $100 million at the box office. Three more movies are planned, starting with the March 20 release of "Insurgent."
A Chicago resident, the 26-year-old Roth was still in college when she began "Divergent," writing it in her jammies while on winter break from Northwestern University. She is now one of the world's most popular authors.
"I think I'd have to be a robot not to occasionally worry about expectations!" she wrote to the AP. "But mostly I try to trust my instincts. It helps that I'm really in love with this project — that makes it a joy to work on.
"I've been really taking my time with it," she said of the new series. "I've written huge sections a certain way only to cut them and start again. I've stepped away for a while, to work on other things, and then come back when I have better perspective. I've been more patient with myself and with the story. I've expanded my collection of comfortable pants and snack foods. It's all working quite well so far."

So, the next few years will be a great for the Divergent fandom, with new books and films every year!
The Divergent Series: Insurgent will be out in cinemas and theatres March 20, and March 18 or March 19 for selected territories.
I will be watching Insurgent when it comes out in theatres, March 19 for my country, with a few of my friends. Followed by watching it with my family! Have you book your tickets yet? Because if you have not, you have to!
